3GB Community

Many people started blogging as a way to jolt down precious moments that happen in their lives. Some started a blog as an online diary to write down their children’s development and milestone. Some started blogs on things they are interested in such as food, automobiles and fashion. For whichever reason a blog was started, we, bloggers, have a common view that blogging is a great way to meet new people, learn new things and exchange views.

Since I started blogging, I have come across several blog communities where we can actually communicate with other bloggers and get to know more people. I think it is pretty cool to join communities like this especially when you are new in the blogsphere. As a newbie, we need traffic to our blog and joining blog communities makes it easier to gain traffic.

Have you heard of 3gb Community? Well, it’s a blog community that allows members to upload their photos, promote their blogs, meet new friends, join groups, send messages, listen to MP3 hits as well as chat. Currently it has about 605 members with 74 albums and 704 photos (statistics taken at 8pm Malaysian time, 24 April 2008)

If you are thinking about meeting new friends or communicating with the world or just for the reason of gaining traffic to your blog, do check out http://www.3gb.biz and start getting connected with the rest of the world.

Sightseeing In New York

“I am going to New York City (NYC)!” How I wish I could shout out loud and board the plane to New York. New York is such a wonderful place to visit. My brother in law has been there for about ten years and when he returned, he talks a lot about New York.

What is the best way to see NYC Attractions? How about a tour around town on a double-decker bus where you can hop on and hop off anytime within 24 hours with just a single fee? Sounds cool, right? This is what my husband and I would prefer rather than following the pre-organized tours that require us to rush the whole day.

For people who like shopping, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets Day Trip that brings you to 220 designer and brand name outlet stores and enables you to save while you shop would be perfect.

Cruise and helicopter ride would be on my list if I were to bring my children with me. They would definitely love those rides.

These tour packages are among many more tour packages that can be booked online at Citysightsny.com, a site that provides services which includes individual airport transfer, motorcoach, minibus and van charter services, escorted tours, group tour services as well as meetings and convention services at a reasonable price.

If you are visiting New York, make sure you visit citysightsny.com first to choose your desired tour package and for those who like broadway and off broadway shows and musicals, you can even purchase theatre tickets before you even step into New York City.

Just when can I visit New York?

Home Schooling

The word “Home Schooling” was first introduced to me by my children’s kindergarten’s supervisor a year ago. My children attend a kindergarten using fungates system and this kindergarten is run by a couple together with their siblings. What aroused my curiosity was that their children were able to help around in the kindergarten everyday. Questions like “Why are the children not in the school at this hour?” popped up and that was how I got to know the word “Home Schooling”. Then I got to know more mothers who home school their children.

Why are more and more people home schooling their children? I have been thinking and I came out with a few possible reasons. Firstly, I think by home schooling your child, your child gets your personal attention and the child can learn better at his or her own pace. Secondly, the syllabus is bible based and many Christians can be very sure that their child is not detached from the bible and at the same time he is learning good values through studies. Thirdly, children who are home schooled do not mix around with bad company and the possibility of negative peer group influence would be minimized. Fourthly, home schooled children have more time to learn other skills.

With the advancement of internet, home schooling has become very convenient. There are many online home school programs but The Jubilee Academy seems to be a good choice. It is an accredited school which offers courses ranging from pre-school to high school including summer school program. The bible based curriculum which becomes an attraction to many parents, is conducted via the internet which includes e-book, CD-ROMs, video and workbooks. The 24 hours a day and seven days a week support and curriculum make it easier for parents to home school their children.

There is just one worry about home schooling our children and that involves the social aspect. Many worry that children who are home schooled have no opportunity to socialize and mix with other children and therefore there is no room for them to exchange views and experience. However, this problem has been curbed by The Jubilee Academy via their social center which is monitored and safe.

If you think that home schooling is expensive, discard that perception because The Jubilee Academy provides an affordable price for all courses offered. It is not surprising if you take into account the absence of concrete classroom, equipments, furniture and all other overhead expenses. If you are thinking of home schooling your child, take advantage of the mid year tuition discount to try out The Jubilee Academy online home school program. Do not hesitate anymore but find out more today!

My husband and I wear eyeglasses and we often look around to search for good quality eyeglasses with reasonable price.

Zenni Optical offers eyeglasses for adults as well as children and they even have a range for women! The best thing is that they deliver internationally!

So, Best Thing Found: Zenni Optical, I would say!

Rope Light, Anyone?

I have just taken down my christmas tree together with my children the other day. When I looked at my christmas tree, I kept thinking about how it would look nicer and more attractive with some rope lighting.

This versatile, easy to use and easy to install rope light makes it a very popular type of lighting preferred by many merchants and home users today. Many use this type of rope light to decorate their homes, offices, and even buildings with displays during festive seasons.

The factory of Birddogdistributing.com produces anti aging and UV additives rope lights, giving you the best rope light you could ever find.

Ashop Commerce Shopping Cart Software

I am struggling with the setting up of my online retail website. It is not as easy as I think. Come to think of it, I may need a more user friendly shopping cart software like the one provided by Ashop Commerce. People like me who are not experts would need the most up to date and professional advice in starting our own online store.

The software comes with thousands of award winning features which are easy to use with customizable design. The shopping cart is web-based with no installation required and it is hosted on a very fast server. This is important as customers do not like to wait for pages to load while doing their online purchase. On top of that, with its Search Engine Optimised (SEO) feature, it enables the merchants’ products to top the list in major search engines. This would drive sales to the merchants.

The package is a total solution which includes the technical support, free emails, 128 bit SSL checkout security, full fraud alerts and web promotion services. This total solution comes with a low affordable monthly price making it a package no online store owner would want to miss.

Do You Regret Having Children?

Why do you get married? Have you ever regretted that you nodded your head when he proposed? If you are a parent, have you regretted having children, especially when they get on your nerves?

Don’t get me wrong. I am not having trouble with my marriage. I am not having trouble with my children either. It is just a topic I find interesting to discuss.

Today, more and more people do not wish to be involved in marriage. Many view marriage as a commitment which they find difficult to fulfill and view children as a burden. Youngsters today would rather keep a dog or a cat as pets instead of having their own children.

Marriage is really a personal choice. It is not compulsory nor is it an obligation. Having children is also a personal choice. If you get married, it doesn’t mean that you must have children. Some have children because they do not want to end up in nursing homes but is that the reason you want children?

I have three children and if you ask me whether I planned it, the answer is YES. My ideal plan was to have three children with two years gap and I can’t believe it went so smoothly as planned.

For those of you who plan to have three children or those who are hesitating to go ahead with another one, read on.

Having three children is not easy and those with three children like Elaine and Miche would agree. The main worry is our financial ability. Can we cope financially with three children? Next comes the fairness issue. Can we be fair and equal to all three children to make them feel important and special as an individual? When they start to fight and quarrel, that is when your headaches begin. You would even have a mental torture when all three of them refuse to obey.

Having said that, what is the difference between two children and three children or maybe more? Two would still fight and quarrel. Two would still give you a mental torture. So, why not go for three? Three doesn’t seem so bad after all.

Sometimes we see too much, hear too much and worry too much. If you do not have problems with your pregnancy and labor, go ahead and plan. Everything is possible if we put our heart and mind to it. Parenting is difficult but we can learn to be a better parent and give our children the best we can.

I am glad I have three children and I do not regret having them. My husband raised his voice when he got excited over a debate with me one day and all three children told their daddy: “Daddy, please don’t scold mummy.” I was so touched and my heart melted. At that moment, I knew that motherhood is all about sacrifices and gains and I have to thank my angels for loving me so much, for training my patience and for giving me a chance to learn along with them.

What makes you get married and what makes you want children? If you are not married, why don’t you want to get married? If you are married but do not want children, why not?

A Vacation Without The Children

Holiday is over and it is time for the children to return to school. Do you like holidays or school days better? Holiday is a time to travel and to relax. For me, holidays would mean more time with my children and less time for myself.

Have you gone on a vacation without the kids? Frankly speaking, I have not! My parents and my siblings have just returned from their trip to Bali, Indonesia. The first thing my father said to me when they stepped into my house is that: “You should go for a tour with your hubby and leave the kids with us.” Finally, somebody volunteer to take care of the kids. Should we go for a tour, just the two of us?

The thought of it makes me excited. If my parents nod their heads, there are many places I wish to visit. How about a Hawaii vacation? The beaches, the warmth of the people, the Hawaiian cuisine and the Hawaiian dance are pictures dancing in my mind now. If I were to visit Hawaii, I would not want to miss Maui and Kauai, the two beautiful islands nobody could resist.

Should I book one of those Maui vacation rentals and Kauai vacation rentals? School has just started and it is really impossible to go for a vacation now. So, all I can do now is keep dreaming and hoping that one day, my dream will come true.

Hubby Missed London

My husband took his degree in United Kingdom and his brother took his degree in the United States. Today, both of them have their own business and they relate their achievement to their exposure and experience gained when they were overseas. If I have the chance, I would love to gain this exposure too but I am not young anymore. So, all I can do now is to hope that my children have the opportunity to go overseas.

My husband still missed London and my brother in law still missed New York. I know that deep down in their heart, they still wish to go back and visit the place where they have stayed a few years ago. What they have to do now is to save some money and with the click of the mouse, book a hotel in just minutes. The day will come when we can all step into London and New York and maybe that is the day we attend our children’s graduation ceremony.

Husband's New Love

My husband has a new love. He would spend lots of time with his new found love, looking at it and exploring it everyday. He aroused the children’s curiosity and got them all excited about it too.

Now, I wonder where he finds his love, his Global Positioning System (GPS). Did he buy it from the shop or did he play text based reverse-auction game online and won some free gifts or cash prize? Everything is possible in this IT driven world where you can find almost anything online. bid4prizes.com is one website which offers sweepstake with amazing prizes to be won simply by guessing the lowest unique number for a particular prize. It is that easy!

If I know my husband well enough, he is a person who will dig out his own pocket money to purchase something he likes. So, my guess would be he bought it from the shop.

Self Defense For My Children

People who have seen me would never believe that I have learnt Taekwondo and have even obtained a black belt before I ventured into Chinese martial art. Taekwondo and Chinese martial art are my form of exercise to keep myself healthy and fit. When it comes to life threatening moments, I doubt I can use these skills to escape and save my own life.

Now, having children of my own puts me in a difficult position. Do I want to send them for martial art classes or do I want to put them under Close Combat Training taught by the world leader in self defense? The world today is not safe anymore. When I flip through the newspapers, all I see is crime and violence everywhere. How are our children going to survive in this world if they are not equipped with self defense skills?

It would be wonderful if we can obtain more information on the truth about martial arts and I would even consider Captain Chris’ Close Combat for myself and my children. Love is to provide our children with skills to survive in this turbulent world.

Time And Money Well Spent

Our trip to Malacca was wonderful. Although we have been to Malacca many times, this was the first time we stayed in a five star hotel. Despite waiting for two hours upon checking in, we generally like the room and the children enjoyed their swim.

We took a trishaw ride that enabled us to see many places of interest and some tourist attractions. The boys loved the ride and I enjoyed too as the boys were able to sit still for about 20 minutes and that means rest for me.

That evening, we met Miche, Jesslyn and Leah. I love meeting them but time was too short for me to really learn from my “seniors” although I have gained some new knowledge about blogging. We hope to meet again and I think we will.

Now, this trip kept me thinking about the use of money. If we have gone overseas with the children, we would be spending a lot more. As long as time is well spent and everybody is happy, I would say that the trip is good. So, it really doesn’t matter where we go but who our traveling companions are.

I think you would agree with me that money earned must be spent wisely especially when you have children. Wouldn’t it be better to save some money for their education? My husband is one who does not believe in putting his money in a fixed deposit or insurance. He would rather invest his money in properties. To him, that will generate income and properties invested will be our children’s education fund.

Some people may think that investing in shares or bond would be a better move. For me, I wouldn’t want to put all eggs in one basket. Investing in gold or gold bullion would be another alternative. Gold is in great demand and its value has increased tremendously over these five years. If you look at the gold price chart, you would agree that gold is quite a secure investment. So, I may want to influence my husband to buy gold for the sake of our children’s future.

Now, what do you think? What is your ideal vacation? What about your mode of investment? Many of you have children and being parents, we worried about everything including our children’s education fund. I would love to hear your opinions and views.

Blog and Get Paid

Before I knew Chinnee, I do not know anything about blogging. Each time after our playgroup sessions, I would visit Chinnee’s blog for playgroup updates and from there, I read her other posts and then, hop over to other people’s blogs. When Chinnee told me that she gets paid to blog, I was very surprised. I have no idea how a person can blog for money.

Now, after starting my own blog, I thought I may just try to earn some pocket money while I blog. I find this opportunity in Smorty, a service that allows bloggers to express their opinion about products and services of advertisers by writing about it and linking back to the advertisers’ website. One thing I like about Smorty is the flexibility it gives to the bloggers to choose posts that they feel comfortable with and to write them in their own way. Smorty pays every seven days unlike others who pay every thirty days. Advertisers find it effective to advertise on blogs through Smorty and that creates a win-win situation for both advertisers and bloggers.

So, I have registered with Smorty and I would like to thank Michelle for recommending it to me. For those who have not signed up with Smorty, do consider it and start to get paid for blogging.

When You Have Three Kids ...

What happens when you have three children? Do you still enjoy life? Well, I would say that life is totally different and many sacrifices have to be made. You can’t be going out with friends all the time when you have crying babies and demanding children to attend to. You can’t be wearing sexy dresses when you have to worry about your children throwing out on you and pulling your dress but you can still look presentable with a nice blouse and light makeup.

Now with three kids, I often go out in jeans without a handbag. You may want to ask me why and I can tell you that it is really not convenient to wear a dress and to carry a handbag while looking after three active children. You may have to chase them at times and bend up and down if you know what I mean.

So, do I enjoy my current life? I DO! With the children around, I miss many things but I gain a lot too! At least I spend time with my children, laugh with them, learn with them and grow with them. Off course when they are naughty, I get very angry but come to think of it, they are my angels, training my patience and I have to thank them in return. These moments are precious to me and I love every minute of it. I can still go shopping for handbags and sexy dresses when they grow up. It will never be too late.

An Award Winning Shopping Cart Software

I am starting my online retail business and I am still working on it. It is not easy as I need to list all products with their descriptions, shipping policy, payment options and a shopping cart system to enable the customers to purchase products with ease. E-commerce software and shopping cart software are what I need to start my online retail business.

There are many shopping cart software if you look around but Ashop Shopping Cart Software with its award winning features caught my attention. It is a good software for the merchants as well as the customers.

With its integration with major banks, gateways and third party processors, it makes payment easy and secure for the customers. Customers would find it very user friendly and easy when purchasing online and that guarantees returning customers.

The software comes in a package with technical support and customer service, which I think is very important and useful for the merchants along the way. With its search engine optimized structure, it enables the merchants’ products to appear on top of the list in major search engines. The design can be customized to help merchants create a personalized appearance for their sites. Most importantly it is affordable to own this incredible shopping cart software that will help you bring your online business to the next level. So, I may want to consider Ashop’s web based and easily installed shopping cart software for my online retail business.

A Wonderful Friend

Last Sunday, I attended the “Best of You Teenager Workshop” which I mentioned in my previous post. I was there to help my friend, Meredith, who gave this course for free as her contribution before she migrates to Australia early next year. She has been very busy engaging movers to move her house contents but at the same time, she gave us her commitment to conduct this workshop. She is so wonderful!

During the workshop, she told us that she decides to migrate because she wants to give her children a better education. I totally agree with her because I could see the difference between local university graduates and graduates from overseas. Have you wondered why the top CEOs of big companies are all Europeans but not Asians?

I know the hassle of migrating. You have to sell your house here and buy a house there. Getting mortgages or home loan is an item to be added to your list of things to do. Expenses can never be low when migrating. There are just too many things to pay for such as insurance for traveling, fees for movers and expenses on new house and furniture.

There are many things to worry about but Meredith is very positive and knows that once she commits herself, she will definitely deliver and she did!

Let me share with you what I learnt through helping her in that workshop in my next post.
