A Big House

My children would occasionally ask me why we are staying in a small house while others whom they know have big houses. “Why are we so poor?” my son would ask and he always wishes for a big house.

If we were to have a big house, I would love to have a big garden for the children to run about and a swimming pool with several outdoor Chaise lounge chairs beside the pool. In the living hall, there will be a wall mounted LCD and a set of elegant sofa and two Chaise lounge chairs. The bathroom in the master bedroom will hold a big mirror and a whirpool tub and the kitchen cabinet would be custom made and it must be beautiful yet practical. I love white and I wish to have white cabinets and furniture but as much as I love white, I worry that white has the tendency to get dirty fast. So, it would be a struggle within me either to make a practical choice or to listen to my heart. Besides all these, there must be some stacking chairs just in case we need to host any parties, gatherings or sleepovers.

Recently, my children told me that they do not want a big house anymore. “Why?” I was curious and their answer was sweet, “because we don’t want you to have so much work. If we live in a big house, you have to clean the house and there’s so much to do.” How sweet!

Furnish a bigger house with larger furniture as well. This will occupy the space.

In this economy, a bigger house doesn't seem to be much. It could only be a waste of space and resources.
