Outlook and Personality

My little daughter loves beautiful dresses and everything pretty. When she was the flower girl during my husband’s brother’s wedding, she wanted to wear necklace and earrings like me. She looked forward to her concert because that’s the day she could put on makeup. She loves Chinese New Year because her aunt would put on nail polish for her.

You know, I’d be worried if my daughter doesn’t like dresses and Girls Jewellery or if she doesn’t behave like a girl but on the other hand, I’d also be worried if my daughter places too much importance in outlook rather than attitude and personality.

So, every now and then, I would remind my daughter that a girl would look pretty if she has a kind heart and a sweet smile. Off course, to many people, outlook is important to a girl but what’s a pretty girl with bad attitude and an evil personality? I hope my vain pot would one day realize this.

Hi Jo, daughters tend to copy, imitate, follow mothers...they see you put on make-up, dress in pretty clothes and will say,
I want to be like you when I grow up, mummy'.
I'm sure your daughter will grow up to be like her mom...
psssst, teach her how to cook too.

I had a friend, a single father, taught his daughter to cook at 9 years old....by 15 he could have lovely dinners, ha ha.
Have fun, Jo, Lee.
