My Love Story

Finally, I remember THE day.
No celebrations, no gifts for several years,
but did it really matter?


It has been nine years,
It started with just the two of us,
and now there are three more little us.
When I look into their eyes, I see us.
They are the most precious gifts,
don't you think so?


Although we were in the same school for six years,
nothing actually happened.
I knew you and you knew me,
but the only thing lacking was the sparks


A call changed everything.
My heart was pounding very fast when you called me that night.
Sorry, I made you waited so long,
although it was not a marriage proposal,
but I had to be sure before I said yes - to be your girlfriend.


It's amazing that we started with us being apart,
studying in different countries.
Many said that it won't work,
but it worked, didn't it?


My suitors didn't give up,
when they knew I had you.
but they couldn't do anything
as I reserved my heart only for you.


We made our friends wonder,
why you and me would make a couple.
Til now, nobody seems to get the answer.

I was your first and you were my first.
Some may say we were silly to be married to our first love
when we should have tried a few and pick and choose
but hey, we were very sure that it would work out,
We were sure of our love.


I'd like to tell you that I have never regretted being with you,
and I know you have not regretted marrying me either.

Infection

There are some bugs or virus around here and they got into me recently. Where or where did I get those bugs?

The symptoms:

Loved and Lost or Never Love

Week 4’s Love Q:

Is it really better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?

This is a tough question to answer as I have never gone through this phase (visit me on 31 May 2008 and you will catch a glimpse of my love story). So, this answer will come mainly from my imagination and from what I think.

Let’s view this from two different perspectives:

One: You allow your heart to rule. You meet someone who is able to capture your heart and your head can’t work as well as you want it to be. You know that you would regret if you don’t have the chance to love. Even if you have loved and lost, it didn’t matter. When the relationship turns sour, life still goes on. Having said that, when your heart rules, usually it will be difficult to deal with a bad relationship. This is when the head should take control.

Two: You let your head rule. You meet the special someone who makes your heart beats fast but you know this relationship would never last. Your head tells you not to start and you listen. So, in this case the answer to the above question would be NO.

Hmmm….. what do you think?

I Found Sherlock Holmes Again

Where oh where has my reading habit gone?

It was always with me when I was young. I would pick up a book whenever and wherever possible. Started with Peter and Jane, I proceeded to Enid Blyton, then to Famous Five, Secret Seven and Sherlock Holmes and later to romance novels. It was ever so exciting to read about adventures of Sherlock Holmes and ended up guessing the culprit.

I guessed this reading habit of mine has been replaced by story telling while the story books on adventures and romance novels have been replaced by children’s story books.

Recently, I found something I have missed so much. I found Sherlock Holmes again, but this time, in the form of computer games. You can’t believe how excited I was when I clicked to play.

Being the first computer game officially licensed by the Conan Doyle Estate, “The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes” gets my rusty mind working again. With 16 cases of murder, theft, forgery, espionage and others, we are assigned a mission to help Sherlock Holmes by collecting clues through highlighting of differences in the crime scenes, solving of puzzles and playing hidden objects games. The game then leads us to analyze each suspect and narrow down the choices using our deduction skill.

Let’s take a look at a few screen shots from “The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes”.

I would say that the game has the ability to capture many by its highlight of many famous characters such as Detective Sherlock Holmes, Watson, Inspector Lestrade, Mycroft and many more as well as the adventures and unique plot in each case. The illustrations, colors and sound effect make the whole game very alive and you even get to explore 40 historically accurate locations around London.

What I like most about this game is that it sharpens my ability to focus and my observation skill besides the exercise that my brain gets, while solving the cases.

"JO-N" is actually "JOANNE". Why do I use "JO-N" when I comment? Well, I once came across a blog and saw a comment by the name of "Joanne" and I thought "Joanne" is rather a common name nowadays. To avoid confusion, "JO-N" is used.
