Last Saturday’s playgroup session was wonderful! Not many people turned up that day but it was a day we became proud parents of our little ones.
So, what made us so proud? Look at the pictures below:
The children actually took over the mothers’ role on story telling and their courage is one we have to praise. Jia Jun started the story telling session with a Chinese story and he did a great job in his presentation. With the correct pronunciation and wonderful intonation, he caught the children’s attention and made the mothers listen with admiration. If you were there to listen to his story, you would never have guessed that he is only 3 years old! Karl continued the session with a Christmas story, asking everybody to guess the characters by their shadows. The two little two year old girls did not want to be left out as well. Audrey took out a book to read in front of everybody. Although it was short, everybody enjoyed her courage. Nyn did something very different. She presented a Malay rhyme with cute actions and I was so proud of her that day.
We did a beautiful craft, prepared by Kristin and it came in just in time as Christmas is around the corner.

Materials:
White card
Green textured paper
Other colored paper
Sequins
Cotton wool
Glue
Methods:
Cut the white card into your preferred size
Draw a Christmas tree on the green textured paper and cut it out
Glue the Christmas tree onto the white card
Cut out shapes like stars, ribbon and other ornaments
Glue the cut out shapes onto the Christmas tree
Glue sequins and cotton wool on the Christmas tree
Your sparkling Christmas tree is ready!
So, what do I do with the craft? Look at the following picture:

It makes a great Christmas decorations!

Tis the time to be jolly! Bet you were all so proud! Yes, and those trees look great on the stairs!
It is amazing when they can stand afront an audience to deliver and articulate a story. It means they have confidence, can think cognitively well and are more poised to challenge the real world. Well done, Mommies!!!
That is so sweet! I love that you hung their crafts up as Christmas decorations. I bet that made them very proud of them.
I am trying to make some christmas card for my daughter friends. Thanks for sharing your ideas.Luckily you post this today.Muaks thanks again.
Hi! Regarding your question on Heads or Tails, yes you get a new theme every week and you simply write about what you want about that theme. It's really easy and really fun. It's a good way to get more traffic to you site too. If you have anymore questions just let me know. ~Tammy
good idea to paste them on the stair case yeah...
while i must say bravo to the 6 yrs old, all the 3 yrs old & the 2 yrs old (in particular) must be highly complimented for daring/heroic/courage to present publicly although only a small group.....

Michelle,
The kids are so brave. It's the first step to public speaking. It's so great to see the kids grow like that.
LB,
Yes LB, time to be jolly and it's always fun during our playgroup sessions.
Big Pumpkin,
It's not an easy task really. Even we, adults, get butterflies in our tummies if we go up to the stage.
Tammy,
Yes, they do feel proud. Thanks for the info Tammy. I think I will join but have to adjust my schedule first.
Sweetiepie,
That's the power of blogging. You get to exchange ideas and experiences. Great to hear that you like the idea.
Chinnee,
I have six of that craft cos many didn't turn up and Kristin asked me to take another 3 home. So, all were up on the stairs and they look great!
Jacss,
Yes. That needs a lot of courage and I was so amazed at how they queue up for their turn.
Keeyit,
I thought that's a great idea put up by Kristin too.
Contented Mum,
We meet once a week on saturdays and we actually register when we knew about the playgroup and become a member. Where are you staying?
Kelly,
There will be more to come. Don't worry.
Jazz,
Ya, it's fun! All the mummies put in lots of effort.
